honestly what makes Daniel Radcliffe’s open letter even better is that he didn’t just give a generic, indirect response, but actually namechecked JKR several times, and used data to support his points. he said I am where I am big part thanks to JKR, but she’s wrong and her statements are hurtful and harmful and here’s why. and he also thought to make sure we know that the story and the characters are ours and our love for them and our headcanons are all valid.
basically, this might have been the most polite, factually correct “fuck you JKR” ever and I love it.
